No Scholarships, No Fanfare, UNC's JV squad just plays



This is one of my favorite articles.

It's players will never see the NBA and likely not even the Varsity team , but the North Carolina junior varsity team is about the love of the game.

For a basketball purist, it doesn't get any better than this. No scholarships, no fanfare, no shoe contracts...you get the picture. Just the pure love of basketball. What they lack in talent, they make up for it in hard work, togetherness, and selflessness.

"Indeed there's no glory here. Half of the students on campus don't even know there is a jayvee team. 'I would do it right now, I'd love to,' Williams said. 'You're coaching because you love to coach and they're playing because they love to play. I think that's really what college athletics should really be all about."
